The protection and privacy of your personal data is very important to us and we are legally obliged to ensure it. We process your data exclusively on statutory provisions. Below we will inform you about the processing of your personal data and the rights you are entitled to under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where appropriate. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the MySole services.
1. Information We Collect
When you use the App, we collect personal information in the following ways:
- Personal Identifiable Information (PII): This may include your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you voluntarily provide while registering, signing up, or communicating with us.
- 3D Point Cloud Reconstruction: The primary data collected by the App consists of 3D foot scans (point clouds) generated during the scanning process. This data is further processed to derive detailed foot measurements and is used to provide personalized foot analysis and recommendations.
- Technical Data: We automatically collect technical information when you use the App, including device information, IP addresses, browser types, and operating systems, to ensure the functionality and performance of the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
Data will always be treated with confidentiality in mind and only used for the intended purpose, while protecting your identity and privacy. This includes pseudonymization, anonymization, data silos, and organizational and administrative measures to protect all data. A unique number (SoleID) is used to store your data; only once a purchase is made will your data be linked to your PII.
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
- Foot Scan Processing: The 3D point cloud data is used to process your foot measurements for personalized shoe fitting, orthotic recommendations, custom insoles, and other related services.
- Customer Support and Communication: We may use your contact information to respond to inquiries, provide updates, and inform you about new features or services related to the App.
- Improving App Functionality: Technical data helps us troubleshoot and improve the App’s performance and user experience.
- Marketing and Promotions: With your consent, we may send promotional materials about our services, updates, or new features.
- Use of Your Data for Improvement: We may use your scan data to improve the App’s performance and accuracy, including enhancing our machine-learning models for better foot measurements and custom insoles.
3. Data Retention and Storage
We retain your data, including your 3D foot scan data, for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including providing our services and complying with legal obligations. If you wish to request deletion of your data, please contact us at compliance@mysole.ch.
4. Sharing of Your Data
We will not share your personal or 3D foot scan data with third parties except in the following cases:
- Service Providers: We may share your information with trusted third-party providers who assist us in running the App and providing services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data. For example, we use Firebase (a cloud-based platform) for secure data storage and processing. - Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including encryption, secure data storage, and access control. However, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and while we strive to protect your data, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The App may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience. Cookies are small files stored on your device that collect information about how you use the App. You can manage or disable cookies through your device or browser settings; however, some features may not function properly without them.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
